Severe storms, and new hurricane forecasts

Severe storms have hit the Midwest again. This has been a rough early season so far for the folks out there. It began in early January, with multiple outbreaks of severe weather following at least every couple of weeks. This is in sharp contrast to last year, with a relatively tame severe storm season. Guess we can blame La Nina for setting the stage (seems like we always have to point the finger of blame somewhere these days anyway). Could be more of the same through mid to late spring.
BTW, hurricane fcst from Dr. Gray’s staff (Colorado) made headlines in the news early this week, and a similar fcst from NC State also made the news…supposedly a very active Atlantic season ahead. We’ll see, as these things often change.
