Hanna started her quick move northward earlier this evening, and rain bands to her north and west have been steadily pushing through the Carolinas, heading towards Virginia. The area should feel the greatest impacts from Hanna starting very early Saturday, with a period of several hours of rain, sometimes heavy. Winds will pick up too, with winds even in the metro area rising into the 15-25mph range Saturday morning and early afternoon, with some higher gusts. Strongest winds will be targeting the coastal areas, including counties along the Bay.
By mid to late Saturday afternoon the storm will be sliding to the north, allowing for drier air to work back into the region by evening. Saty tuned to NBC12 and check our main weather discussion posting on the website for the latest updates.
