Ike hits Texas, but no affects here

Hurricane Ike, moving ahsore over the northeast coast of Texas, will weaken and push northward into the Midwest by Sunday.  The expected track of the remnants will most likely be so far away from us, that even with recurvature to the northeast we should see little to no residual moisture.  The upper-level winds, those steering currents aloft that brought Hanna directly over Virginia, have shifted, and Ike is on a different course… one that could spell very wet conditions for large portions of the Plains and  Midwest this weekend.
