The year’s first significant outbreak of severe weather, i.e. thunderstorms and tornadoes, has emerged over parts of the Midwest and Deep South this week. This is the time of year when retreating cold air reluctantly relinquishes its grip to warmer air. The battle zones are set, with the resultant atmospheric turbulence often making headline-making weather.
Looking like we will escape most of the severe storm threat this go-around, even as the front presses closer towards the weekend.
